Psychotherapy with Addie O’Gara, LCSW
My name is Addie and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate to help individuals navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding. I believe meaningful healing begins with a genuine connection that feels safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental. A Therapeutic relationship should make you feel genuinely seen, heard, and empowered. My approach is grounded in authenticity, showing up as human, and the belief that every person possesses the capacity for growth and change.
An important part of my therapeutic approach is the belief that therapy is not linear, singular or a “one size fits all” approach. I want to get to know you, learn your goals, strengths, weaknesses and let you set and lead your own goals with my therapeutic assistance. As a therapist, I integrate evidence-based practices witha person centered approach. Helping you build practical coping tools, deepen self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and move toward a more meaningful life.
A bit about myself- I earned my Master’s degree at the University of Chicago and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have over 7 years of clinical experience working in various treatment settings; partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient settings and outpatient therapy practices. I specialize in OCD, Complex Anxiety Disorders and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. Additionally, I have significant experience working with individuals experiencing depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, grief, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, general stress and life transitions.
I believe therapy should be a place where you don't have to have all the answers. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you make sense of what you're experiencing, and support you as you move toward a life that feels more connected, balanced, and aligned with who you want to be.
